We have a few more weeks to enjoy of what's been a fabulous summer, including a long list of area athletes who have stepped up to national competition with success all around! Since our last newsletter we've had the NPC Natural Classic and five national shows that area athletes participated in. We've had a record number of athletes from our states compete at national shows this year, just entering and competing in these shows makes you a champion, congrats to all athletes who stepped up to the challenge!
The next local event will be the Contest Prep Seminar, this Saturday, September 8. The seminar is put on by On Track Training, agenda is as follows:
This is a great opportunity for anyone training for a show or thinking about competing, come get some basic contest prepartion questions answered. All trainers that are present will be introduced at the beginning of the event, so bring your business cards to give to attendees who want your contact information. Event is in the lower level of Legends Bar & Grill, 825 E Hennepin Ave, Minneapolis. This event is an all age event, no preregistration is required, cost is $5.
The 2007 Season Finale will be the NPC North Star, November 10 at Myth. Entry forms were sent out via email in July and registrations have been coming in, if you haven't gotten your entry form or need a hard copy mailed please contact christine@christinebongiovanni.com or call 952-945-9090 and leave your name and mailing address. We have a lot of athletes who have been waiting all summer to get up on stage so this promises to be a great event to participate in and to go spectate! Check out this athlete showcase: http://www.figurerx.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=127
I'm also very excited to announce that our website has been started and is in continual developement. There is information on all of the area upcoming shows with more detailed information on our states, Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota, as well as information on posing suits and we're looking to expand the site in many ways including athlete, trainer and gym recognition. I will be including contact information for anyone wishing to sell or rent their figure or fitness suits as well, please contact me to get your information on the site, www.mnnpc.com.
When looking through the calendar on the website please take a moment to note a few significant changes in our NPC contest schedule in 2008. Randy and Julie Leppala are new promoters and will be hosting the NPC Heartland Natural Classic in the April 5, 2008. Also in 2008, the NPC Gopher State Classic will be moving to June 7, prior to our summer NPC national shows in order to provide an opportunity, for those who are interested, to qualify for a national level contest. See the calendar for all area NPC contests.
I want to remind everyone who is planning on competing in an NPC sanctioned event to get their NPC registration mailed in. The membership is a calendar year membership which means it expires at the end of the calendar year you purchased it in. If you purchase your membership now but don't compete until the fall you will still receive some of the NPC News magazines for this year. Too many people are still registering at the fall show and then don't get to enjoy the full benefit of the membership. I can provide you with a registration form via US mail or as an attachment if you submit a request via email to christine@mnnpc.com or contact me at 952-945-9090.
Since our last newsletter we've had some great events including:
NPC Jr. Nationals, June 15-16, Chicago, congratulations to all!
