Bodybuilding, Fitness & Figure Enthusiasts,

Happy New Year!  I want to thank everyone who braved the weather to make it to our NPC Athlete Meeting and Posing Seminar on Saturday, we had 52 attendees, the best turnout to date!  It is very exciting as your NPC Chairman to see so many knowledge seeking athletes and trainers at these events, I can't wait to see all of you up on that stage!  With the growing number of people interested in competing in a NPC physique event we will be looking at a lecture style room for next year's seminar.  I would like to see more of these posing seminars being presented to aspiring new physique competitors in the outlying areas of Minnesota, North and South Dakota.  In order to make this happen I need the help of trainers from these areas and would like to know if there is interest out there in a "Trainers Seminar", a seminar in which I would train you, the trainer, to teach the art of posing to the athletes in your area.

We are now well into the new year, with many athletes preparing for our two 2007 kickoff events, the NPC Upper Midwest Championships and the NPC Gopher State Classic.  The NPC Upper Midwest Championships has close to 40 athletes entered and has Ronnie Coleman coming to guest pose at the event, it will be a night to remember!  Four weeks later we have the NPC Gopher State Classic being held at the Twin Cities hottest new nightclub, The Myth, we are looking forward to another memorable event that night!  Look to the calendar below for details on both of these events.

When looking through the calendar make note of changes in our NPC contest schedule in 2007 & 2008.  This year our NPC Natural show will be in June (flyer for this event is below) and the NPC Minnesota will be in August.  We have a couple of new promoters, Randy and Julie Leppala, who will be promoting the NPC Heartland Natural Classic which will be held in the spring of 2008.  While the NPC Gopher State Classic will be moving to June, prior to our summer NPC national shows so everyone has a chance to qualify if interested in moving up to a national level contest.

I want to remind everyone who is planning on competing in an NPC sanctioned event to get their NPC registration mailed in.  The membership is a calendar year membership which means it expires at the end of the calendar year you purchased it in.  If you purchase your membership now but don't compete until the fall you will still receive all of the NPC News magazines for this year.  Too many people are still registering at the fall show and then don't get to enjoy the full benefit of the membership.  Go to www.nationalphysiquecommittee.com to print out your registration form or I can send you a registration form in the mail, please request via email, christine@mnnpc.com or 952-945-9090.

Lastly, I would like to let everyone know that I have also taken on the NPC Chairmanship of North and South Dakota.  I am looking forward to bringing the growing excitement of bodybuilding, fitness and figure to those states while we continue to grow here in Minnesota!
